Uncover the Class Details Here!

What age groups does Arya Bal Vihar cater to?

Arya Bal Vihar caters to children from ages 5 to 18, providing a comprehensive introduction to Hindi culture and language.

Where is Arya Bal Vihar located?

All sessions run at the Vedic Cultural Centre, 4345 14th Avenue, Markham, ON L3R 0J2. We have plenty of free, on-site parking and an accessible entrance for strollers or mobility devices.

What activities are included in the Hindi cultural classes?

The classes include storytelling, language instruction, traditional games, and cultural celebrations to immerse children in Hindi culture.

How can I enroll my child in Arya Bal Vihar?

You can enroll your child by visiting our website or contacting us directly via phone or email for registration details.

What are the class timings at Arya Bal Vihar?

Classes are held every Saturday from 10 AM to 12 PM, ensuring convenient scheduling for families.

Are there any prerequisites for joining the classes?

There are no prerequisites; all children within the age range are welcome regardless of prior knowledge of Hindi culture.

Is this a religious class?

Think “culture club,” not formal worship. Kids learn the stories, values and history behind Indian festivals (Holi colour science, Diwali diya making, Independence-Day trivia, etc.). Ritual instruction or mandatory prayer is not part of the curriculum, so families of any or no faith are welcome.

My child speaks little-to-no Hindi. Will they feel left out?

Not at all. Many students start from zero. We teach basic Hindi through songs, charades and crafts; English remains the primary classroom language until children feel confident enough to try simple phrases.

How much does it cost?

We operate on a suggested annual donation of $100 per child (which covers supplies and weekly lunches). No child is turned away for financial reasons—simply email the coordinator to arrange a subsidy or instalment plan.

What should my child bring?

A labelled water bottle and a willingness to have fun! We provide art supplies, yoga mats and the hot vegetarian meal. Dress comfortably; festival days may involve paint or coloured powders.

Do you offer programs outside the school year?

Yes—our Summer Day Camp (ages 6-13) runs 9 AM–4 PM, July 14-25 2025, blending Bollywood dance, STEM crafts and field trips. Early-bird registration is now open.

Can parents get involved?

Absolutely. In fact, many of our parent volunteers are current teachers with the Toronto District School Board (TDSB), bringing professional classroom expertise to every Sunday. But you don’t need to be a teacher—just enthusiasm and a completed police-screening. Roles include classroom aide, kitchen crew, event decorator, and social-media storyteller. High-school students can also earn their Ontario community-service hours by mentoring younger kids.
